- Women are free to compete on men's teams only when there isn't a womens team for them to compete on. Usually this means wrestling and football. If there were womens teams, then that would be the appropriate place for them to compete.

- @ vincent, two comments 1) there usually isn't a women's wrestling team, that is why the girls compete with the boys in the first place. If there was, this wouldn't be an issue.

- I find the remark "its a lose-lose situation for the guy, if he wins, so what, he beat a girl..." incredibly demeaning toward all female athletes, and I'm a guy. These women are athletes as well who have earned the right to be in this competition so they must be talented.

- I honestly don't understand all this nonsense about the boy being placed in a difficult position. I wrestled in high school and there were several girls on out team and several more in the district. Some of them were quite talented athletes and yes, they sometimes beat the boys.

- @observer, very true, I had a bit of a brain fart and couldn't think of the correct word. However, I think you missed the irony there; if you're going to praise yourself on a perfectly correct sentence, you should at least get it right.
